Natural Building Presentation for Franciscan Earth Literacy Center

Mark Hoberecht of HarvestBuild gave a presentation on Natural Building Systems for the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center in Tiffin, Ohio on February 10th. The Sisters of St. Francis are planning to build a straw-bale house this summer (2009) on their farm as part of the Little Portion Green project, which will generate interest, educate, and create enthusiasm for living a lifestyle that is healthier for the environment.

Passive House Performance Presentation for Environmental Health Watch

Mark Hoberecht of HarvestBuild gave a presentation on Passive House Performance and took part in a panel discussion for Environmental Health Watch at their seminar entitled Deep Energy: Extreme Energy Efficiency in New and Existing Homes [pdf, 488 KB] in Cleveland, Ohio at the Cleveland Environmental Center on January 23rd.

Passive House Conference Presentation

Mark Hoberecht of HarvestBuild presented at the 3rd Annual North American Passive House Conference, November 7-9, 2008 in Duluth, Minnesota. The title of his presentation was Challenges and Benefits of Using Straw-Bale Construction to Meet Passive House Standards.

E4S Network Event on the Future of Green Building

Mark Hoberecht of HarvestBuild was a panelist at the October 2008 Entrepreneurs for Sustainability meeting on the Future of Green Building in Northeast Ohio. Other panelists representing GreenCityBlueLake Institute, Environmental Health Watch, Bialosky + Partners Architects, and Doty and Miller Architects also took part.
