HarvestBuild assisted with the design and consulted on the natural building portion of this two-story straw-bale and round-log timber-frame house. It features our baling-on-the-edge exterior straw-bale wall system, a vented rain-screen and exterior rough-sawn wood siding, and earth and lime plasters throughout. During construction, HarvestBuild led several weekend workshops for bale raising, straw/clay, and plaster work. Our colleagues at Fox Natural Building assisted with the workshops and also performed much of the straw-bale and plaster work.
